Connie Ford, Secretary and Director

Connie worked for twelve years as a Licensed Family Daycare Provider and has five years of experience with the California state loans and grants program. She is a retired Licensed Civil Engineer, the parent of three adult children, and a member of the Florence Rotary Club.

Camille Griswold, Treasurer and Director

Camille was a medical assistant in a family and pediatric practice for ten years and then a member of the mobile crisis response team for five years. In both positions, Camille worked with children of all ages and observed their growth. and development over time. She knows firsthand the challenges of childcare in Florence. Camille and her husband work full-time, and after their family leaves for their child’s birth, they have to make hard decisions about childcare. They were unable to find an accredited and trustworthy provider that they could afford to serve their child. Fortunately, they have family nearby who can help when needed. Camille brings a personal passion to the SCF board to help develop additional childcare in Florence.

Kim Erickson, Director

Kim has a long history of service to the Florence community. She is Secretary of the Peace-Health Peace Harbor Community Health Board and served on the Lane Community College Advisory Board for eight years. Kim has been a Rotary member for 17 years and is a past Rotary President. She served three years on the Executive Team for Rhododendron Court. Kim received the 2022 Florence First Citizen Award. She is a mother of two and worked for over two years to co-found and operate a childcare center in Florence. Kim has 27 years of experience in Finance and is currently employed by Oregon Pacific Bank.

Chelsie Reeves, Director

Chelsie is a dedicated mother of two – a daughter, 15, and a son, 4. Her child-rearing experience, especially as the parent of a child on the autism spectrum, has given her deep insight into the challenges and needs families face. When her daughter was younger, Chelsie volunteered for two years at Head Start, assisting with classroom activities, monitoring children, and helping create a safe, nurturing environment. She has also been a frequent caregiver for her nieces and nephews, ages four to twenty-two. From this experience, Chelsie has a broad perspective on child development across the age continuum. As a single parent, she has experienced firsthand the difficulties of finding and maintaining employment due to limited access to child care. She is deeply committed to helping establish and expand child care services within her local area. Chelsie’s goal is to support the community by helping shape childcare programs that are inclusive, accessible, and responsive to the needs of all children.

Sally Wantz, Director

Sally moved to her forever home, Florence, in 2003. Her extensive background in human resources landed her a job for the Confederated Tribes of the Coos, Lower Umpqua, and Siuslaw Indians and their business enterprise, Three Rivers Casino Resort, for 16 years. During that time, she co-founded Quality Child Care of Florence because she realized employees needed quality care for the infants, toddlers, and pre-kindergarten children. Now in her retirement, she is entering the childcare arena again to help finish what she started years ago:  to bring much-needed childcare services to our community. Sally is proud to serve on the Florence City Council and in leadership positions for the Florence Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, Western Lane Community Foundation, and the Rotary Club of Florence.
